【摘要】:Ground-watermodelinghasbecomeanimportantmethodologyinsupportoftheplanninganddecision-makingprocessesinvolvedinground-watermanagement.Ground-watermodelsprovideananalyticalframeworkforobtaininganunderstandingofthemechanismsandcontrolsofground-watersystemsandtheprocessesthatinfluencetheirquality,especiallythosecausedbyhumaninterventioninsuchsystems.Increasingly,modelsareanintegralpartofwaterresourcesassessment,protection,andrestorationstudiesandprovideessentialandcost-effectivesupportforplanningandscreeningofalternativepolicies,regulations,andengineeringdesignsaffectingground-water(1).Successfulground-watermanagementrequiresthatdecisionsbebasedontheuseoftechnicallyandscientificallysoundmethodsfordatacollection,informationprocessing,andinterpretation,andthatthesemethodsareproperlyintegrated.Ascomputercodesareessentialbuildingblocksofmodeling-basedmanagement,itiscrucialthatbeforesuchcodesareusedasplanninganddecision-makingtools,theirperformancecharacteristicsareestablishedandtheirtheoreticalfoundation,capabilities,andusedocumented.Goodcodedocumentationensuresscientificrigorandimplementationalqualityinthedevelopmentofacode(2).Completeandwell-writtendocumentationshortensthelearningcurvefornewusers,providesanswerstoquestionsfromprojectmanagers,andsupportsefficientcodeselection.Well-structuredandindexeddocumentationprovidesrapidanswersforinitiatedusers.Thisguideisintendedtoencouragecomprehensiveandconsistentdocumentationofaground-watermodelingcode.Earliersurveysofcomputermodelsandassessmentofspecificmodelsindicatethatthedocumentsthataresupposedtodescribeandexplainthesemodelsandtheirusearelackingindetail,inconsistentintheircontents,incompletewithrespecttouserinstructions,inefficientwithrespecttoindexingandstructure,andoftendifficulttoobtain(3).Thisstillappliestothedocumentationofmanyoftheground-watermodelingprogramsrecentlyreleasedorfrequentlyused(4).1.1Thisguidecoverssuggestedcomponentsofthedocumentationofaground-watermodelingcode.Documentationofaground-watermodelingcodeconsistsoftextualandgraphicalinformationrecordedduringitsdesign,development,andmaintenanceregardingitscapabilities,developmenthistory,theoreticalfoundation,operation,andverification.Itistheprincipalinstrumentforthoseinvolvedinitsdevelopmentanduse,suchascodedevelopmentandmaintenancestaff,networkmanagers,codeusers,andprojectmanagers,tocommunicateregardingallaspectsofthesoftware.1.2Thisguidepresentsthemajorstepsinpreparingthedocumentationofaground-watermodelingcode.Itdiscussesthevariousdocumentationaudiencesandaddressestheroleofprinteddocumentationversusdocumentationinelectronicform.1.3Thisguideisoneofaseriesofguidesonground-watermodelingcodesandtheirapplications,suchasGuidesD5447,D5490,D5609,D5610,D5611,andD5718.1.4Thisguideisnotintendedtobeallinclusive.Ifoffersaseriesofoptionsandconsiderations,but......
