【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesinformationontheconditionofconcretebridgedecksoverlaidwithasphalticconcretewithoutnecessitatingremovaloftheoverlay,orotherdestructiveprocedures.Thistestmethodalsoprovidesinformationontheconditionofbridgedeckswithoutoverlaysandwithportlandcementconcreteoverlays.Asystematicapproachtobridgedeckrehabilitationrequiresconsiderabledataontheconditionofthedecks.Inthepast,datahasbeencollectedusingthetraditionalmethodsofvisualinspectionsupplementedbyphysicaltestingandcoring.Suchmethodshaveproventobetedious,expensive,andoflimitedaccuracy.Consequently,GPRprovidesamechanismtorapidlysurveybridgesinanefficient,non-destructivemanner.Informationontheconditionofasphalt-coveredconcretebridgedecksisneededtoestimatebridgedeckconditionformaintenanceandrehabilitation,toprovidecost-effectiveinformationnecessaryforrehabilitationcontracts.GPRiscurrentlytheonlynon-destructivemethodthatcanevaluatebridgedeckconditiononbridgedeckscontaininganasphaltoverlay.1.1Thistestmethodcoversseveralgroundpenetratingradar(GPR)evaluationproceduresthatcanbeusedtoevaluatetheconditionofconcretebridgedecksoverlaidwithasphalticconcretewearingsurfaces.Theseprocedurescanalsobeusedforbridgedecksoverlaidwithportlandcementconcreteandforbridgedeckswithoutanoverlay.Specifically,thistestmethodpredictsthepresenceorabsenceofconcreteorrebardeteriorationatorabovethelevelofthetoplayerofreinforcingbar.1.2Deteriorationinconcretebridgedecksismanifestedbythecorrosionofembeddedreinforcementorthedecompositionofconcrete,orboth.Themostseriousformofdeteriorationisthatwhichiscausedbycorrosionofembeddedreinforcement.Corrosionmaybeinitiatedbydeicingsalts,usedforsnowandicecontrolinthewintermonths,penetratingtheconcrete.Inaridclimates,thecorrosioncanbeinitiatedbychlorideionscontainedinthemixingredients.Deteriorationmayalsobeinitiatedbytheintrusionofwaterandaggravatedbysubsequentfreeze/thawcyclescausingdamagetotheconcreteandsubsequentdebondingofthereinforcingsteelwiththesurroundingcompromisedconcrete.1.2.1Asthereinforcingsteelcorrodes,itexpandsandcreatesacrackorsubsurfacefractureplaneintheconcreteatorjustabovethelevelofthereinforcement.Thefractureplane,ordelamination,maybelocalizedormayextendoverasubstantialarea,especiallyiftheconcretecovertothereinforcementissmall.Itisnotuncommonformorethanonedelaminationtooccurondifferentplanesbetweentheconcretesurfaceandthereinforcingsteel.Delaminationsarenotvisibleontheconcretesurface.However,ifrepairsarenotmade,thedelaminationsprogresstoopenspallsand,withcontinuedcorrosion,eventuallyaffectthestructuralintegrityofthedeck.1.2.2Theportionofconcretecontaminatedwithexcessivechloridesisgenerallystructurallydeficientcomparedwithnon-contaminatedconcrete.Additionally,thechloride-contaminatedconcreteprovidesapathwayforthechlorideionstoinitiatecorrosionofthereinforcingsteel.Itisthereforeofparticularinterestinbridgedeckconditioninvestigationstolocatenotonlytheareasofactivereinforcementcorrosion,butalsoareasofchloride-contaminatedandotherwisedeterioratedconcrete.1.3Thistestmethodmaynotbesuitableforevaluatingbridgeswithdelaminationsthatarelocalizedoverthediameterofthereinforcement,orforthosebridgesthathavecathodicprotection(cokebreezeascathode)installedonthebridgeorforwhichaconductiveaggregatehasbeenusedintheasphalt(thatis,blastfurnaceslag).Thisisbecausemetalsareper......
