【摘要】:TheCERCHARtestandassociatedCAIweredevelopedatatimeofmoredemandforapplicationofmechanicalexcavationmachinesattheLaboratoireduCenterd''?/span>tudesetRecherchesdesCharbonnagesdeFrance(CERCHAR)(3).CAIisusedtoassesstheabrasivenessofrockformechanicalexcavation.Rockabrasivenessgovernstheperformanceofdisccutters,therateofitsreplacementandthereforesubsequenttunnelcosts.Advancesinmethodsofundergroundexcavation,inparticulartheuseofthetunnelboringmachine(TBM),necessitatesknowledgeofrockabrasiveness.Abrasivenessexpressesabehavioralcharacteristicofrockratherthanafundamentalphysicalormechanicalproperty.CAItestswereoriginallycarriedoutonnaturalbrokensurfaces.Inheterogeneousrocktypessuchasconglomerates,coarsegrainedgraniteorschistoserock,suitablefreshtestsurfacesarenotachievedbymechanicalbreakageusingahammer.InthesecasesCAIvaluesforx201C;smoothx201D;surfacescutwithadiamondsawareacceptableforusebutshallbenormalizedbyEq2beforetheycanbeused(1).ThetestvelocityfortheOriginalCercharapparatusisapproximately10mm/sand1mm/sfortheWestCercharapparatus.TheCAIvaluesobtainedforbothtestingvelocities(1)areestimatedtobeequal.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythesepracticesisdependentuponthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingitandthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetestingandsampling.UsersofthesepracticesarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheabrasivenessofrockbytheCERCHARAbrasivenessIndex(CAI)method.ThetestmethodconsistsofmeasuringthewearonthetipofsteelstyluswithaconeshapeandknownRockwellHardness,causedbyscratchingagainstafreshlybrokenorsawcutrocksurfaceforaprescribed10mmdistanceusingoneofthetwotestapparatus.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedforfreshlybrokenrocksurfaces;however,sawcutsurfacesarecoveredforwhenasatisfactoryrocksurfacecannotbeobtained.1.3StylusRockwellHardness(HRC)canhaveaprofoundeffectontheresultsandthefocusofthistestmethodisanHRCvalueof55foreverytest(1,2).However,therearesituationswherestyluswithdifferentRockwellHardnesscanbeusedTherefore,thistestmethodincludesdiscussionsonstyluswithdifferentRockwellHardness.1.4AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthprac......
